Deerfoot was a Blackfoot (Siksika) runner for whom Deerfoot Trail is named. Born ‘Appi-Kai-Ees’ he took on his new moniker as he gained fame as a world-class distance runner. The song is from the album “AlbertaSongs” written and sung by Paul Finkleman, who is also known as “PAULO”.
